"Exercising regularly provokes physiological adaptations resulting in benefits for health, that last until some time after having finished the practice of the exercise. Physical exercise has to be individually programmed with the help of a specialist. In particular sedentary people have to increase progressively the intensity and duration of their training activity, until their objectives are reached. Adaptations that occur by exercising are only visible in the long term and are dependent on the type of training made (ie.: achieving greater resistance to fatigue, greater aerobic power, speed, to control weight, to feel better, etc.). During the practice of physical exercise, hundreds of genes are activated to trigger the catabolic and anabolic processes, allowing the muscles to generate energy for contractions and afterwards, at the end of the exercise, to replenish the glycogen stores and repair the damaged tissues by means of resting and eating. Those processes are perfectly tuned, because they have been adapted by millions of years of evolution, and could be used to correct the metabolic disorders of people (obesity, Diabetes type 2, etc.). The correct diet rich in carbohydrates and the rehydration after the exercise, play as well an important role in the healthy style of life as it is showed in this modest review work.
